Major Arcana: Major Sky Arcana.

Origins: Crafted from the hands of Azyn himself, this ancient Arcana traces its heritage back to the destruction of the Silver Tower. It's said its secrets were whispered to him by the titan Nord, and that the monster's chaotic, primal nature was what he tailored it after.

Casting: A mantra that slowly builds in power and speed, the only word being uttered the arcane: Ira, ira, ira, ira.

Focus: Rage. Wrath. Roaring, wild, destruction.

Effect: The Storm Summon contains only one spell, and only one effect - the materialization of a violent, raging tempest that bends to the mage's destructive will.

Reputation: While the Arcana holds a lot of prestige, especially among the more traditionalist and patriotic azurites, it's also notoriously difficult to control. It's been associated with leaders of power, particularily in times of war. While it's said that no one has managed to summon the same amount of destructive power as Azyn once did, it's still a powerful tool in laying waste to your enemies - but can, as proven by the tenth Azure Archmage - also turn on the mage himself; oftentimes leading to a spontaneous Tearing right there and then.
It's said that the chaotic mindset that one has to adapt in order to bring forth the hurricanes and gales, is simply so fundamentally against the azurite principle of control that it's also incredibly difficult to learn. Only a select few still teach it, and then with little hope of their students actually mastering it. 
Many a brave azurite neophyte have tried their hands on the legendary Arcana at least once; and just as many have failed.

Major Arcana: Major Birth Arcana/Major Earth Arcana.

Origins: Tea has been used for medicinal purposes since the birth of the Citadel, ms. Pamparei of the Ivory always figured, so why wouldn't it be its own Arcana really? It's a fairly new Minor, barely ten years old, but some claim its practices have been used for centuries (although, to be honest, which new hip healing method doesn't claim just that?).

Casting: A lot of work in the Herbal Harmony Tea lies in the nurturing, by magic, of the tea-plants and chamomille used in the concotions. Cutting, caring and calming the buds and sprouts is a part of the casting, along with drying the tea-leaves and eventually even boiling the water and pouring the tea. All of it highly ritualized, of course.

Focus: As you go through the motions, from seed to beverage, your mind should be clear and your heart swelling with good will. It's encouraged to first envision someone you love, and why you love them. And then, someone whom you are neutral against, and why you would love them. And lastly, someone who has antagonized or hurt you; and why, ultimately, you love them as well.

Effect: Healing! But particularily long-term healing. Rather than the knitting of open, gaping wounds the Herbal Harmony Tea Arcana can help patients regain their energy, fight insomnia and back-pain. Some of the more advanced spells are particularily apt at working against poisoning of any kind.

Reputation: In the Silentium, the Herbal Harmony Tea Healing Arcana has gotten a lot of flack, and originally it was ruled out as a completely fictional arcana due to the lack of immediate effect in the patient. However, as it slowly showed its uses within slow theraphy of chronic issues, it has reluctantly been admitted into the Arcanum.
With this said, it's still heavily associated with "new wave" medicine, and some doctors still view it with a lot of disdain - calling it a second-grade practice that barely rallies any result.
Within the circles that want to leave the detached demeanour of official healers, however, its proven very popular; especially since the mages using it has a tendency to also open up for therapeautic sessions with their patients. It's been heavily associated not only with physical, but also mental healing; what better after a stormy break up, than a calming cup of tea?

Major Arcana: The Major Birth Arcana

Origins: Created centuries back by a long unremembered Ivroum, the Minor Muscle Mending Arcana was created simply to help those with none life threatening painful muscular conditions or those bedridden whist healing occurred. Seriously who has time to deal with arthritis?

Casting: Nothing more than the rhythmic hand movements of a massage are needed in the casting of this Arcana, with your movements the slow, steady realise of magic is enough to sooth the muscles. Those who choose to master it fully are taught to either incant a particular three letter word “Tai, Sai, or Kai” in that order depending on the depth of the torn muscles that need tending. Eventually after years of practice tracing a tiny rune with your figure is sufficient to reach deeper in to the muscle tissue, few people bother to go that far. However the spellwork has multiple uses, as well has mending the muscle tissue it can also be reversed to shred the muscles as well. To shred the muscles, press the tips of the fingers against the skin and using a short intense burst of magic with the mind focused on inflicting damage, drag the fingers like claws across the skin. Only once you have mastered mending muscles fully are you allowed to try this one as otherwise the damage can bee deep and severe.

Spellwork: Soothes and untangles knotted muscles, improves circulation of the blood around the extremities of the body, particularly good for those who sit, stand or work in awkward positions all day long or the elderly. Also a good way to relive stress of the mind as well as the body, but that is more of a side effect. The reverse of this arcana as the name suggests it shreds the muscles damaging the structure of them, the depth and amount of damage can be controlled by the one inflicting it.

Reputation: One of the fist arcana taught to Neophites in the Ivory Tower, as it teaches magical control and gets the young doing something useful while they learn freeing up their teachers to be doctors and surgeons. It has no high acclaim due to the fact so many people can do it to some degree however should it be mastered to it's full extent then you are given credit for your diligence if nothing else.

Major Arcana:The Space Arcana

OriginsCreated by Bastious the Ever Fair and named after himself as well, lets face it anyone vain enough to call themselves “The Ever Fair” is more than vain enough to name an illusion technique after themself.

Casting:Passing the hand over the affected area while visualizing the desired look of the illusion and letting out a steady stream of magic. Once cast this illusion requires very little magi to maintain but it is easy to dispel.

Spellwork: This creates low maintaining illusions that lay against the skin to cover marks and blemishes. It's almost like magical concealer to blot out age lines, scars and imperfections, this making the caster appear ever fair.

Reputation:Not an overly rare Arcana nor one that is well known as he only taught it to his own student's and so far it is thought that he only had a single student to unless this form is passed on by that student then this arcana will likely die with him.

Major Arcana:The Major Birth Arcana

Origins Created by the well respected Ivorum Saul Alanis. One of the many ways in which gaping wounds, puncture wounds, and other major injuries to the flesh can be closed and repaired. Saul was a great lover of simplicity in all things, he didn't agree with ways of casting that wasted energy in what he called “needless theatrics” and so he set to work in creating a method of stitching together bodies that had been torn asunder without having to “needlessly dig, delve or throw your arms around.”

Casting:As with most Ivorum based magic touch is essential in the casting of the Critical Wound Binding  arcana, but also there is s great need for the understanding of the anatomy of the human body, and the ability to visualise. Your hand must be firmly placed over the wound (which is uncomfortable for the patient to start with) and with your eyes closed visualise the body tissue knitting back together allowing your magic to pull and tug and fasten the tissue back into the right place, When it comes to the regrowing of skin the same visualization technique is applied. This often causes the Ivorum casting to suffer from rapid eye movement.

Spellwork:Healing the body when it has been gashed, punctured, slashed at or otherwise damaged physically. It is also used to heal and recover the stumps of savoured limbs. This can only be used for damage to the flesh and skin as without pushing your hands into the wound itself, you cannot go deep enough to fix internal damage. Knitting the flesh closed so they will not open up again during the healing poses. This form of healing is not used for small scale or superficial injuries in the Ivory Tower because that would be a waste of magic and time.

Reputation:This minor Arcana is notoriously hard to master as to do it properly the mage must not make any unnecessary movements, something most neophytes have a hard time getting threw their heads. Most parents that wish their children to be instructed in this Arcana decide it early and from a young age start teaching their children to visualise even before their blossoming in order to prepare for it.

Major Arcana: Major Earth Arcana

Origins: Said to have been one of the first offensive spells crafted by Acre of the Forge, this Arcana has been used since time immemorial, among the most basic of battle magic techniques, and has been one of the staple spells of the Vermillian battle mage for as long.

Casting: Control is the key. Mastering the spherical shape comes first, the repeated picturing of the blaze confined to this form the beginning of this. Novices learn to press the fingers of one hand together in a quick snapping motion, the spark to light the spell, then to slowly extend their fingers to inflate their fireball whilst simultaneously spinning their other hand around the ball, crafting and maintaining the shape (flame-retardant gloves are usually provided by reputable teachers). Fully-fledged magi quickly drop the latter motion, requiring only a single hand and often learning to cast from both at the same time, and as skill grows so will the size of fireball that can be cast, and the speed in which it can be engorged with magic. Masters will be able to cast multiple fireballs from a single motion, of varying sizes; from a hail of tiny fire bullets to a single small sun. As for using it? Well, it's thrown at the target, basically. This must be learnt and perfected also, otherwise the fireball will just collapse when focus is shifted to launching it. As mastery advances, the thought and effort required to throw the fireball(s) is lessened.

Spellwork: Rather simply...a fireball. Boom.

Reputation: So common and widespread that it possesses no prestige whatsoever. If a Vermillian takes the path of soldiery, this spell will be among the first they get to choose from, and absolutely no respect will be gained from its mastery. Sure, if you're a badass who can send a monsoon of fiery death at your enemies, you can have some respect then.

Major Arcana: Major Heart Arcana.

Origins: Its origins are probably as ancient as they are unkown. If you ask the only practicioner then he will tell you that it is he who made it; Penniver Xhul Morge.

Casting: The form of casting is highly ritualistic and time consuming. You will need a helpless victim, and some tools. What is done is pretty simple; while having the victim at your mercy, you begin making a key out of a metal you feel represents them well. As you shape the key you must make the victim talk and express themselves in different ways in order to see the deeper parts of them, unfortunately, pain is the simplest way to do this. Once the key is crafted to satisfaction, it is pressed against the victims forehead and the memories desired will flow from one mind to the next.

Focus: While making the key you must set yourself into the mindset of having complete ownership of the person you are performing on. There must be no doubt that it is your right to do whatever needed to get what you want from them.

Spellwork: It bores deep into the victims mind, soul and memories, and STEALS parts of them that pertain to a single one of their spells, or even more generic memories. Then it creates those inside the user. It literally steals spells from other people. With practiced use it also lets you read the memories of creatures and objects, as well as alter them.

Reputation: Some say it is just an urban legend, another one among the hundreds about the Spell Thief. Others know different, and dread to ever see it in action.

Major Arcana: Major Construct Arcana.

Origins: It heralds from the artificers and construction workers of the Golden Tower. It was first used to gain as many practical functionalities out of one machine as possible, but soon found other uses: such as weaponry.

Casting: Most often one creates an incantation out of schematics and particulars for whatever purpose the construct shall be for. In other words, you babble blueprints.

Spellwork: A wide variety of things, out of a simple principle; Change one machine or construction into another by picking it apart and putting it back together. For example one might transform their clock into a drill, or their mechanical arms into a magic missle sniper rifle.

Reputation: A very, very common arcana among the hard workers of the gilders, but also for people with much to hide. Mastering this arcana fully might or might not make you a living god in the Golden Tower.

Major Arcana: Major Birth Arcana, and reputedly, Major Wish Arcana - whatever that is?

Origins: In ye olden times, at the very beginning of the classic establishment The Fuchsia Curtain, the veiled, aromatic club became known for one thing: the ecstatic euphoria that could be had at hands of its owner, the Peacock. Veiled in mystery and much wanton, the Major Arcana is said to only have been taught to his most skilled Paradise Birds and remains something of a tantalizing myth.

Casting: The caster apparently has to bring about at least a hundred fulfilled orgasms to their partner, and harness the various fluids into a bottle of scented oil. This oil can then be cast in the future spellwork, for example in massage or even just as a seductive perfume.

Focus: As you work your partner(s?) into physical bliss, it doesn't do to just enjoy the other person's orgasm - you have to be into it, too. Simply put; get turned on.

Effect: Divine pleasure, so to speak. Once you've learned to invoke it, it can be applied at will, both to yourself and others as you massage the oil onto your skin. The oil can also be used to woo others and draw them to you, as if they can smell the promise of an unforgettable night on your skin.

Reputation: Among those in the business, it's thought the ultimate crown of one's career to have mastered this Arcana. In other circles, it's considered somewhat of an amusing little tale.

Major Arcana: Major Space Arcana/Major End Arcana/Major Heart Arcana.

Origins: Once upon a time, it's said that the Tarot cards crafted in the Obsidian Tower could help you divine the future - but that time has long since passed. They are veiled in the history of dark secrets unraveled, however, and some hope that this Mystikos Arcana still has some juice left.

Casting: Laying Tarot spreads after charging the deck with your Question that you want answered. The Spread of choice is up to the cardhandler.

Focus: Asssociative, visual, symbolic thinking is highly encouraged, and you should always strive to interpret the pictures of the cards into a story. This story and its narrative then brings about the answer.

Effect: Although it can no longer scry for the future, the Hidden Tarot Arcana can still summon up the spirits of those who have departed and they may guide the cards to fall in a way that the spirits deem the answer to the question to be. Whether or not this is still scrying, in that the dead holds answers the living don't, is up for debate.
On occasion, the cards have also been used (wrongfully? rightly?) to cast illusions based upon the pictures and symbols upon them. If this is to convince the sceptic or to just make for a better show, well. It is an Obsidian Arcana.

Reputation: As it has been used one too many times by a theatrical obsidianite as a means of tricking unsuspecting victims, it's now considered only the work of charlatans and liars - not holding any actual magic effect at all. As you can't prove whether or not you as the caster are merely making assumptions, or it's actually the spirits of old whom are turning the cards, it's hard to prove your legitimacy as well. 
However, those whom have (supposedly) mastered the Arcana, say they can clearly feel the difference; and it's perhaps not uncommon that the ones diving further into its serious use, are always Mana Sensors.

Major Arcana: Major Birth and Major Space.

Origins: A young lad a few centuries ago or so, fell deeply in love with a spirit of wishes. He tried his hardest to imitate and become as the spirits likeness, which resulted in this arcana. Also known by some as the False Hope Arcana.

Casting: Through touch and soft speech or humming, the user stimulates a person's physical brain chemicals. Summoning to them illusions that are much more realistic and tangible than such matters usually are, as they are mostly conjured up by the affected party's own desires. 
The mage performing the casting traditionally wears a Wish or Dream Catcher on their person, that they focus their magic through. Every night and morning they then perform a ritual to clear the Catcher by shifting their mana through its fine web, and making it ready for another day's work.

Spellwork: Most commonly it creates whatever imagery the 'victim' is looking for at the moment, complete with sounds, smells and touches. A skilled user could potentially manipulate whatever imagery he or she would wish for, but the more invasive or contradictory the vision to what the other party is asking for, the more difficult.
It's also been proven vital to keep the one you're casting on completely calm, as a sudden break of mood such as anger, fear or desperation can make the spell go haywire and instead induce horrifying, waking nightmares.

Reputation: No matter how fullfilling and spectacular these visions are, they are never real; and therefore many people leave with a sense of emptiness after their session. This has been known to create a sort of addictive effect, and a person might become obsessed with the user of this technique or the visions it gives.
Is mostly in use within the Paradise Birds of the Fuchsia Curtain, whom use it to entertain guests - and to make them return, over and over again.

Major Arcana: Major Space Arcana.

Origins: As many things created for war, the creator was much too ashamed to take any credit. It is a staple arcana of violent Obsidianites though, though few have mastered it.

Casting: In order to visualize the line of Nothing, you utilize threads - either by tightening threads around your fingers into a straight horizon and holding it up across what you want to cast; or, if it's a larget object, putting up wires across the object in question. It's of utter importance that these threads and lines are utterly straight, and it takes years of training to master the molecular perfection that's required.

Focus; The mindset must be one of destruction or separation. You must throw away any notion of there being value to material things, or even definitions for them. Because of this it is impossible to practice both this arcana and the Spherical Nihility at the same time, or even learn them both without hundreds of years of mental training alone.

Spellwork: A simple principle with many variations and uses; the user parts the "space" at one place, most often in a straight line, able to split apart almost anything (or anyone), creating a sort of invisible sword for the wielder. Essentially, you Cut with Nothing.

Reputation: This is considered a terrible Arcana, an almost uncounterable offensive spell that can't be used for much else other than killing people. However, because of this it is also sought after by assassins and soldiers alike.

Major Arcana: Major Earth Arcana.

Origins: One of Acre's very first apparentices, who's lineage lives on in the Vermillion Tower to this day, took the Paragon's tell-tale forging techniques one step further - and at Acre's death, it's said that Ismat melted the founder's anvil in a fit of pure hot rage after her son was slayed during one of Acre's many battles.

Casting: The Ismat Magma Ignia Arcana is tightly linked to the armour of the original Ismat; an armour which has growen increasingly more detailed, and coming in pairs with different sort of weaponry, as the ages progressed. All of these magical artefacts probably didn't belong to Ismat herself, but have simply been forged from her ancestors and then given legitimacy in her name.
Each piece comes with its own set of rules, but they all share the common aesthetic of having a hard surface of boring basalt-grey with cracks that have shaped into intricate, arcane patterns which glow with a lava-like burn from the inside.
It's incredibly painful to wear, as it slowly boils the wearer. The runes are activated by rhytmic drumming.


Focus: PAIN. Part of the challenge is to withstand the burn, and by preserverence and mental fortitude aim that tortuerous fire towards thy enemies!

Spellwork: Any material, but most commonly stone and steal, will transform into a molten, lethal bubbling wave - and if mastered, it's said the magus could even summon a true volcano.

Reputation: If you get your hands on one of the armour-pieces, your career in the vermillian army is probably set for life. Some would call it old-fashioned, however, and claim that the spellwork lacks a certain finesse.

Major Arcana: Major Construct Arcana

Origins: The foremother of the Golden Towerites, Aurea of the Clock created this in her burning desire to produce and invent. The prosthetics shaping skill was originally an offshoot of the more general Minor Artificery Arcana that has since long ago been divided into innumerable different categories and now the gilder artisans identify themselves by more specific terminology, because isn't it just so much spiffier like that?

Casting: Usually either by mere hand movements or using tools for concentration.

Spellwork: Used to build artificial implants and prosthetics. The caster has the ability to mold and bend the metals to their will by touch alone.

Reputation: A central skill in the prosthetics worker's profession. You can gain great prestige, at least momentarily, with this if you manage to invent something new and fascinating to build up the gilder knowledge base of cogwheel mechanics.

Major Arcana: Major Construct Arcana

Origins: Developed by Hagius Landrake, the esteemed gilder scholar and inventor, as well as a highly regarded poet, who created the first automaton that could heat tea water at a specified time of the day. From then on it has been a popular way of creating independently moving helper constructs and other automated tools.

Casting: A connection is formed with the construct by touching. The physical contact must not be severed until the spell is complete, otherwise it can have unexpected consequences depending on what kind of functions the construct has or the caster was instilling in it at the time.

Spellwork: With this Arcana the caster is able to program constructs to perform different functions independently, alter pre-existing functions or add new ones if the machinery in place allows it.

Reputation: Used by automata builders in their work. Slight variations of this can also be used in other fields that deal with some level of automation in constructs. Mastering this Minor could help you take over the Citadel with an army of awesome automata soldiers if you were insane enough to try something like that. It is a quite highly esteemed and perhaps a little feared skill in some circles despite it being fairly common, causing heated legal debates over the necessity of imposing limitations on it's use.

Major Arcana:The birth Birth Arcana

Origins Created by the Matro of Needles who felt that there had to be a better, more hygienic way of acupuncture than using metal needles. He develop a way of concentrating magic into the form of needles and using that to enable or disable pressure points.

Casting: Thanks to the fact the needles are formed from magic they have to be a specific width and so the easiest way to cast is for the mage to have very precise tattoo's on their palms, fingers and fingertips. Magic is drawn from within and focused and expelled threw the pinpoint tattoos in a short burst. Due to the concentration the casters fingers do not need to be in contact with the skin but they generally are to confirm the striking of the pressure point. Intricate knowledge of the human anatomy and magical control to avoid driving the needles too far.

Spellwork:Acupuncture can be used for many varied healing methods, it all depends on the pressure point and if the magic is meant to stop or increase the point struck. Some of the many effective uses of this arcana are: Pain relief, the reactivating of damaged nerves, increase or decrease blood flow, loss of consciousness, loss of feeling in concentrated area's, loss of extremity control.

[b]Reputation[b/]:Highly acclaimed in the Ivory tower due to the skills needed to wield it. The magical control is not only difficult to master but also a skill unto itself, as one slip, one needle to far in the wrong direction and you could do more damage than good. Anyone learning to cast this arcana is a tireless medic who will always keep up to date with the newest medical knowledge and generally will study for the rest of their practicing life.

Major Arcana:The Sky Arcana

Origins: brought into live long ago by Avelon Surgeon Master, a half Azurite half Ivorum who weeded his hands as the tools of his trade.

Casting: Normally in training the neophyte would have straight lines in ink drawn on the pads of each finger. This meant they had something to concentrate there air magic along, manipulating the air into a continuously rotating blade just above the skin. The dense, thin, ever moving current of air acting like a sharp blade of steel, that can never rust, carry infection or dull. Though many remove the ink-lines many more elect to have them permanently affixed to their skin to aid in casting.

Spellwork: Air scalpels sharp enough to slice threw skin, muscle tissue, blood vestals and organs. It can also slice threw bone if the blade is made large enough and the air dense enough to saw threw the calcium structure.

Reputation:Not overly highly acclaimed in the Ivory tower due to the fact so many surgeons have been taught the skill, however outside the Ivory it has started to be used for much darker more nefarious purposes, starting to become a regular appearance in the arsenal of assassins. Due to the face that the blades can be any size as all or shape.

Major Arcana: Major Space Arcana.

Origins: In show business, of course! From the age-old theatrical masters of deception, the Obsidianites...but -exactly- where? Nobody's quite so sure. Everyone you ask will give you a different origin story, and some just to mess with you. Nowadays, its effects are also applied in a rather more sinister and clandestine fashion; in the world of espionage and assassination.

Casting: The casting process is taught in several steps; and requires knowledge of glamours and pocket dimensions before it can even be taught. Before casting even begins, the desired look (clothing, hair, accessories, glamours) must be completely assembled and perfect, down to the last hair. The spell is cast through the formation of a picture frame using one's thumbs and forefingers, and the current visage imagined being imprinted within the frame and peeled away, stripping the user of everything they just created, and a reverse process which reforms the look over the current guise of the user. Once taking off and applying one look has been mastered, one moves on to mastering this process with another look, then removing one and applying the other. Maintaining this spell requires a constant supply of magic, so users often use runes, tattoos and other forms of magical storage to 'ground' their handiwork and keep it powered.

Spellwork: The seamless transformation from one form into another; however, unlike regular glamours this form is set and alteration of individual characteristics requires further small-scale uses of this spell or another glamour or spacial magic. Masters using this seem to transform instantaneously, and often hide the transformation with a flash of light.

Reputation: Whilst commonly-known and (less) commonly used amongst the Obsidianites, it's less well-known and rather coveted outside of their tower due to the chameleonic abilities its masters seem to possess through its use.

Major Arcana: The Major Space Arcana

Origins: Sky Davis of The Obsdian Tower was the former creator of Ruby Manipulation. She has worked on it for over half of her life time and brought it to the day light about two years before her death. The name Scarlet Manipulation comes from the fact that it's one's gravity manipulation and that when casting/using this spell veins under your skin glow with a dim scarlet colour.

Casting: Caster has to loosen up his muscles, so a slight shake of one's arms is encouraged to ease muscle tension.

Spellwork: It enables to manipulate your body's gravity, with which you can: glide across the ground, float in the air, use the falling momentum to help deal damage with your kicks and punches.

Reputation: This is considered a fairly new Arcana, which brings quite some attention, but many are a bit too scared to try and attempt at casting it.

Major Arcana: Major Space Arcana.

Origins: As many things created for war, the creator was much too ashamed to take any credit. It is a staple arcana of obsidianite soldiers though, very few have mastered it however..

Casting: The caster employs a glass orb in any size comfortable or practical for the work. They then have to calculate the void within the orb and scale it into the proper size needed for the spell, writing upon the glass as they do. Once this is done it is mostly a manner of holding the orb in front of you and looking through it at your targeted area.

Focus: The caster must focus themselves to an outmost degree, projecting an orb of distorted space, nothingness, to the place before them. This is done by defining reality through numbers and angles, and knowing about things constructions. You must place value on the material, to create something out of nothing. Because of this the Arcana is utterly incompatible with the Linear Nihility, simply because the mental effort is so much of an opposite. Using the arcanas, or even learning them, at the same time is virtually impossible.

Spellwork: By extending the space around another mage or object, the user can effectively separate his enemies from Stellaeri itself. The "void" created by this spell is most often created as an orb around the victim, simply making the distance between them and surrounding magic so large that it is effectively not able to reach them. It is possible to use this for negating spells already in the air as well, extending the space between oneself and the spell, making it unable to reach you. A weakness of the arcana is that it is very hard to apply to moving targets, since it is based off of calculations of space and fixed points. Therefore it is more often used to apprehend criminals or in an ambush scenario than in a frontal assault.

Reputation: One of the most valuable arcanas to have on your side in a fight. Although long time practicioners are said to become a bit.... off. Either devoid of emotions, only relying on math as reality, or simply raving mad as they realize the infinity of Nothing.

Major Arcana: Major Sky Arcana.

Origins: A creation of Swan himself. He made it in order to enhance his own performance, but found it much more effective as a defence tool.

Casting: By dancing of course. Utilizing Swans own, ballerina dance routines brings forth the power of the Swansong arcana.

Focus: Exhausting oneself for the beauty of the dance, and the fierce protectiveness of oneself and the art that one creates, must be achieved. Depending on the mood of the dancer, and the dance, the spells will be shaped into more violent, sad, happy or beautiful forms all together.

Spellwork: The Arcana forms wings and feathers of light, pure, white and blinding. This light is physical however, hard and sharp if need be. Its feathers can travel at high velocity and tear apart other materia, as well as protect from harm.

Reputation: None yet.

Major Arcana: Major Space Arcana

Origins: No one is really sure how it began, but the reason why and when is obvious. In a place like the Citadel where space itself is created and manipulated, it's only logical to have a series of portals to connect everything together. This art is as old as the Citadel itself, therefore many of the methods and theology behind the craft have either evolved entirely into something new... or forgotten. Gateways are as diverse as the Citadelians themselves. That being said, most can agree that Portals are the very lifeblood of the Citadel itself. Without them, there would be no way to sustain travel between... well. Anywhere. There are literally thousands of methods to creating a portal due to the facts of its age and usability; every Tower has their own philosophy of the craft, but it is generally accepted that the Obsidians are the true masters of it.

Casting: Due to the age of this Arcana, there are many methods of casting. Generally, however, there are two distinct schools of thought. Both can cast with equal aptitude; their only difference is in methodology because of the philosophy on how a portal is created and sustained. These two methods can be summarized by Self-Casting and Assisted-Casting. The first does not use any tools or writing to preform the spell, generally with a dance, words, or anything that one can do with their own body. The second method uses the act of drawing, tools, and rituals. Self-casting is regarded as a less permanent solution to gate, while Assisted-Casting is thought to be better for setting semi-permanent spells like gates in high-traffic areas.
Teleportation also falls under this arcana; just like portal-weaving, but on a less grand scale and almost always casted on oneself. Some public places have modified gate runes so people who teleport land in a welcoming area. Usually these are used in businesses or private areas where dropping in on something randomly would be rude, such as medical practices and the like.
Bonus: To maintain the more permanent portals for public transportation, mages use instruments and maps that look uncannily like astrolabes and star charts. Perhaps this is because they need to align the magic to space itself for the portals to work?

Focus: Out of the Box. Outside. Throw your conscious thoughts to being the place where you want to be. It requires a lot of mental acuity.

Spellwork: Now you see me, now you don't! Each portal is specific to a mage like handwriting; sometimes it looks like your teachers, sometimes it doesn't.

Reputation: Very good! For a real-world application, being a Portalist is similar to having a PHD in Engineering, due to the amount of time and skill it takes to learn it. The exception to this positive regard are the Obsidianites, due to their secretive nature. Funny enough, they are also regarded as being the most skilled.

Major Arcana: Necromancy.

Origins: An old, OLD school application of magic. Not used much nowadays since its preparations are pretty out-dated, yet very powerful if they are done right. Created probably before the creation of the citadel.

Casting: First of, you need a book. A big book with empty pages. Through trances and ritualistic chanting you call one or several small spirits to you and with ink you have prepared yourself you "write them" into the pages of the book. By recording their name and nature you trap them in the page, and by writing down their missions, they will bend to your will.

Focus: You must "open your mind" to the voices of spirits. Listening closlely with senses you don't really have and not fight the wierd things you might hear. By writing down the things you hear, you both remember them and make them into reality for the spirits and you.

Spellwork: A very multi-purpose arcana. Depending on what spirits are bound in the book, you can have them do different things. Small-time curses and the like are normal, having something to clean your house is another. Only smaller spirits are really able to be bound like this, full out demons, Djinns or titans and the like will simply laugh at this type of magic. Half-formed ghosts, small malignancies, tiny elementals and that sort of thing is the deal here.

Reputation; Sometimes regarded as a distinguished and fine craft, other times its simply viewed as an art not needed anymore.

Major Arcana: Major Earth Arcana

Origins: The Minor Golem's Pulse Arcana hails from the Vermillion Tower, dedicated to the royal guards of a generation long past. The Arcana has especially run in the 'Sakhr bloodline since its creation, it being believed to have hailed from an ancestor who once served among royal guards.

Casting: Originally the Arcana was cast in a meditational fashion which more often than not included a weapon of some sorts, preferably a spear or a longsword. With a standfast pose, the caster would with a firm grip the shaft of the spear or the handle of the sword, perform a repeated movement of moving the hands (with a weapon or not) up and down (it doesn't matter which way the weapon points, as it can be cast without).

Later, a less sentient way of casting the Arcana grew forth by the heed of urgency. This second method somewhat mimicked that of a stalking predator in hiding. The light steps growing more heavy as they approach their prey, before they leap from hiding to attack. The very leap being the final phase of the casting.

The nature of this casting method have through time and many a individual been tuned differently. To this day the nature of the casting resembles that of a beast more than a feline predator. The light stepping vanished, while the leap remained, added with the impact of the leap itself as the essential end steps.

Focus: The Arcana requires and demands a firm and standfast mentality. The nature of the Arcana as a Battlespellcast is defensive, so it also involves a will to defend, a will to sacrifice. Above all a calm yet strong will forms the Focus of the Arcana, due to its sustaining effect.

Effect: As the title might imply, the caster will coat him-/herself in a coating of stone. This through a process of mineral crusting which manifests itself onto the user, which can evolve to a fully fletched armor. It can also be formed by absorbing nearby rocks or materials to the caster to form the skin, all depending on what casting type the mage uses. The stone acts as a layer of protection, a second skin if you may. In addition it greatly enhances close quarter combat effectivity.

The effect varies from caster to caster, as the profficiency level decides the quality of the Arcana. Everything from thickness, density, form, shape, material and speed is all decided by the skill level of the caster.
A caster who've mastered the Arcana can form it by will, its surface smooth and rounded, its appearance just like that of a statue while a novice will most likely create a jagged, malformed, rough and uneven coating that lacks in strength and quality.

Reputation: The Minor Golem's Pulse Arcana has lost its status as something practiced among the elites as its users has dwindled in numbers. Only a handful of mages are expected to still be practicing it and whether any masters remain is uncertain. By old, the title of "Earth's Sentinel" were given to mages who excelled in its use.
